Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at elliot@ejfautoelectrics.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our technicians connect directly to your vehicle’s ECU (engine control unit) - often referred to as the vehicle’s “brain” using specialised diagnostic equipment. We read the existing engine management file and send it to our tuning specialists, who custom-optimise it specifically for your vehicle.

Once the new EJF-tuned file is ready, it’s programmed back into your ECU, allowing you to immediately experience the enhanced performance and drivability.

In some cases, certain vehicles cannot be accessed through the diagnostic port. When this occurs, the ECU is carefully removed, and the tuning is carried out directly via chip modification or boot loading. The end result remains the same - a fully optimised and efficient engine - only the method differs.

Depending on your vehicle, the remap process typically takes less than an hour.

Some manufacturers’ diagnostic equipment may be able to detect that a remap has been carried out. However, many forward-thinking manufacturers recognise the benefits of professional, high-quality tuning - understanding that a properly optimised vehicle can often perform more efficiently and reliably.

Officially, most manufacturers state that if a modification directly causes an issue with the vehicle, only the affected component may be excluded from warranty coverage. This does not mean that the entire vehicle warranty is automatically void.
